Doctor Rabbit finds an abandoned tadpole and raises her to froghood. The cast of characters, including Nurse Mouse and others, is irresistable. The ending is bittersweet, because even orphaned tadpoles grow up one day, but this ending is one of the things that makes this such a special story for a parent to read with their still-small child.
