They're divided into two parts: Letters from the Valley of the Connecticut River and Letters from the West addressed to the author's wife, then in Baltimore. ( the "West" he visited include Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky). Three-page preface by author. Covers with light soil, bottom of spine frayed, front endpaper gone so volume opens to title page. No markings.
