Hardcover. West Virginia, Old Hemlock, 1st, 1982, Book: Very Good, Dust Jacket: Very Good, Hardcover in a lightly worn dust jacket with a closed tear, 213 pages. An Affair with Grouse is Opus 9 of the upland gunning and gun dog books George Bird Evans has written, beginning in 1971 with Upland Shooting Life. An Affair with a Grouse is entirely about ruffed grouse and grouse dogs reflecting the consecrating of the man who wrote it, interests enhanced by his own drawings and writings about them. Reminiscent of the days when one person used related crafts to create a book, it has been designed, embellished with drawings and shaped into a deluxe edition by one man and woman. Clean copy.
