He was ordained as a rabbi in the New Jewish Theological Seminary and went on to become a Reform rabbi and ardent Zionist and Anti-fascist. This book was published to mark Rabbi Wise's 70th birthday. his comments on Zionism, Hitlerism, the fate of the Jews - as WW2 was drawing to a close - were enormously influential.
