This comprehensive volume covers a major portion of his illustrations and paintings for the first time. His painting also crossed boundaries including elements of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism & Tonalism. Perhaps it was this refusal to sit in one box that accounts for his being so nearly forgotten. There are many lovely pictures here, mostly of St Ives & the coasts of New England.
