What made the experience tolerable was Nurse Camp's romance with one of the airmen who flew the Hump, supplying O.S.S. troops behind Japanese lines and carrying General Joseph Stillwell's Chinese troops to fight the battle of North Burma. She accompanied her future husband on some of his missions. Based, in part, on letters she wrote to her parents, this is the poignant story of one nurse's experience in World War II and how her service changed her life forever. During his long reign (1953-1999), King Hussein of Jordan was one of the most dominant figures in Middle Eastern politics and a consistent proponent of peace with Israel. This is the first major account of his life, written with access to his official documents and with the cooperation (but not approval) of his family and staff, and also extensive interviews with international policy makers. For more than forty years, Hussein walked a tightrope between the Palestinians and Arab radicals on the one hand and Israel on the other. Edmund Bailey O'Callaghan's Documentary History of the State of New-York, published in four volumes between 1849 and 1851, is one of the key source-books for genealogical and historical research in New York State. Interspersed throughout its more than 4,350 pages are copies of important genealogical records of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, among which are census records, rate lists, lists of early settlers, and rolls of militia companies.
