The Unquotable Trump
by: R. Sikoryak

Softcover. Montreal, Drawn and Quarterly , 1st, 2017, Book: Very Good, Dust Jacket: None, Softcover. The master of the comic book mash-up finds the POTUS to be his ultimate super-villain R. Sikoryak is famous for taking classic comics and mashing them with famous literature as he did in Masterpiece Comics or even using comics to visualize the iTunes Terms and Conditions contract. Now in these uncertain times, cartoonist R. Sikoryak draws upon the power of comics and satire to frame President Trump and his controversial declarations as the words and actions of the most notable villains and antagonists in comic book history. Reimagining the most famous comic covers, Sikoryak transforms Wonder Woman into Nasty Woman; Tubby Tompkins into Trump; Black Panther into the Black Voter; the Fantastic Four into the Hombres Fantasticos and Trump into Magneto fighting the Ex-Men.

The Urban Millennium : The City-Building Process from the Early Middle Ages to the Present
by: Josef W. Konvitz

Hardcover. Carbondale IL, Southern Illinois University Press, 1st, 1985, Book: Very Good, Dust Jacket: None, Hardcover, pictorial cloth, 265 pages, b&w illustrations. The Urban Millennium focuses upon the spatial adaptation of cities as a factor in urbanization. Konvitz explores how the evolution of city building strategies has accompanied and facilitated other aspects of urban development. By taking a long historical perspective, he shows that cities were more easily adapted to changing circumstances before and dur-ing the industrialization. Konvitz also draws out the implica-tions of his analysis for contemporary urban problems. He challenges many contemporary assumptions of architec-ture and city planning and suggests that we should learn to appreciate an ap-proach to building which allows for the continual modification of individual structures and districts, and which places more control over the environ-ment in the hands of the users. Archer traces the hidden trail from San Francisco slum alleys to the luxury of Palm Springs, traveling through an urban wilderness of drugs and viciousness. As the bodies begin to pile up, he finds that even angel faces can mask the blackest of hearts.Filled with dope, delinquents and murder, this is classic Macdonald and one of his very best in the Lew Archer series. The Whisper of a Million Leaves
by: HAVERICH, Beatrice.

Hardcover. Bologna IT, Damiani, 1st, 2006, Book: Very Good, Dust Jacket: None, Hardcover, 100 pages. Original publisher's illustrated laminated boards. Issued without dust jacket. Copiously illustrated in color and black and white throughout. Beatrice Haverich believes that "trees embody life. They show us the seasons in a city landscape, and they provide us with wood, food and shelter. Their silence demands our respect." Her subjects, for whom she has the utmost sympathy, are survivors, stalwarts: for example, the Yew trees in Kingsley Vale, UK, are 4,000 years old. Among these portraits, she observes branches molded by the wind into lopsided hairstyles, and roots exposed by the rain. Some trees survive in cement planters or remain in the bounds of their sidewalk squares, but others reclaim their habitat, taking over old greenhouses and popping the glass panes one by one as they grow. Up from sand and boulders and cliffs and pavement, Haverich's trees are shaped by their landscape, but they persist in shaping it as well.

The Wild Bunch: Sam Peckinpah, a Revolution in Hollywood, and the Making of a Legendary Film (INSCRIBED COPY)
by: W. K. Stratton

Hardcover. NY, Bloomsbury Publishing, 1st, 2019, Book: Very Good, Dust Jacket: Very Good, Hardcover in a bright dust jacket, 336 pages, b&w illustration. INSCRIBED BY STRATTON on the title page. For the fiftieth anniversary of the film, W.K. Stratton's definitive history of the making of The Wild Bunch, named one of the greatest Westerns of all time by the American Film Institute. Sam Peckinpah's film The Wild Bunch is the story of a gang of outlaws who are one big steal from retirement. When their attempted train robbery goes awry, the gang flees to Mexico and falls in with a brutal general of the Mexican Revolution, who offers them the job of a lifetime. Conceived by a stuntman, directed by a blacklisted director, and shot in the sand and heat of the Mexican desert, the movie seemed doomed. Instead, it became an instant classic with a dark, violent take on the Western movie tradition. In The Wild Bunch, W.K. Stratton tells the fascinating history of the making of the movie and documents for the first time the extraordinary contribution of Mexican and Mexican-American actors and crew members to the movie's success.
